About
Strengthening the entire wood supply chain in Northland
The Northland Wood Council brings together nine member organisations to collaborate on areas of shared interest across the region’s forestry and wood supply chain. Our work is driven through dedicated working groups that focus on key parts of the industry, enabling us to coordinate efforts, share knowledge, and support practical improvements that benefit the whole sector. Together, these collaborative efforts strengthen the entire wood supply chain in Northland, supporting resilience, safety, sustainability, and long‑term regional growth.
Dedicated working groups
Environmental and Health & Safety working groups
Northland Wood Council's Environmental and Health & Safety working groups partner closely with regional regulators to lift industry standards, promote best practice, and ensure sustainable and safe operations across Northland.
Wood Processing and Northport Users groups
The Wood Processing and Northport Users groups concentrate on improving efficiency and wood availability, supporting smoother operations and stronger connections across the supply chain.
Roading Collaboration
We work directly with the three district councils’ roading teams, sharing our five‑year forward plans and bridge classification needs so they can plan upgrades that support efficient transport of wood products.
