The Northland Wood Council proudly hosted the Northland Forestry Awards at MacKay Stadium on Friday 20 September, honouring the exceptional contributions of individuals and organizations in the forestry sector. The event drew an impressive crowd of 450 guests, with renowned MC Te Radar skillfully guiding the audience through an inspiring night filled with celebration and recognition.

The 2022 Northland Forestry Awards have proved to be a huge winner in more ways than one. Not only did the annual event attract record nominations but it was close to a sell-out awards evening that celebrated all that was good about forestry and the region.

Northland Forestry Awards 2018
Dave Wilson has walked away with the top prize at the Northland Forestry Awards in a record year of entries. As well as being awarded the Northland Forestry Skilled Professional of the Year, Mr Wilson also won the Harvesting Excellence Award. He is known as one of the most professional crew managers in the region. He’s worked for Rosewarne Cable Loggers since 2013 and thrives on the challenge of running an efficient harvest crew in often challenging terrain using a 90-foot tower.

A man who leads by example to the highest of standards was tonight crowned the Northland Forestry Skilled Professional of the Year before nearly 500 of his peers at the annual awards.
